We all fear change, even when that change is good. However, most of the time we can find a way to manage our fears and live a fulfilling life.

Sometimes, though, those fears can be paralyzing. It doesn’t help that the fear of trying something new only seems to hinder our progress. But there are ways to beat that fear and gain control of your life again.

Here are six tips for overcoming the fear of trying something new:

1) Plan what you’ll do if your fears come to fruition

This is a great way to combat your hesitation before tackling a task. Make a plan on how you’ll react if it all goes wrong or right according to plan. This will help you keep your focus on the task at hand and prevent you from feeling overwhelmed.

2) Beat down your fears with motivation

It’s no secret that some of us love the idea of being driven by our dreams. In that case, it’s important to set up the motivation that you’ll need to get through the fear. Whether it’s writing out a plan, taking a motivational diet or even sharing your story to inspire others, getting a reminder that what you’re doing is important and worthwhile can go a long way.
