It can be hard to find the time for introspection in today’s busy and bustling world. Luckily, there are plenty of ways that you can take a break from your daily life, whether it’s through practicing meditation, getting exercise, writing in a journal or volunteering.

In this post we’ll explore some of these techniques and the benefits they might have on your wellbeing. Which one should you focus on? That’s up to you! But pick one and a new side of yourself will be waiting for you.

Meditation

Meditation is a fantastic way to let go of the stresses and distractions in life. It’s a time-honored tradition that has been around since Buddhism began.

And it’s easier than you think. If you’d like to start meditating, there are tons of books and apps available that allow you to start practicing even if you’re new to this practice. But don’t be alarmed if sitting still and quiet for long periods of time feels strange or uncomfortable at first. That’s normal. You’re not doing anything wrong! It’s just becoming familiar with this new skill.

Many people start off sitting with their eyes closed, but you can also try to focus on your breathing or simply listen to your thoughts and watch them flow by.

I am a writer for one reasons. It’s what I’m meant to do with my life: create worlds, characters who breathe and live off the page with me.
