Indifference to evil is a chronic disease

Besides people who sympathize, share, and always think of others, some are indifferent, selfish, and only think about themselves. Thoughts like “It’s not my business” and “It’s not enough to take care of myself”… sometimes make compassion for the pain of others and anger at the bad become rare.

Indifference is not a crime, but it is most likely a path to corruption. Moreover, it has the risk of spreading in the community. An emotionless person will make everyone around them emotionless and, eventually, an apathetic society. Indifference is also likened to a disease of “soul cancer,” causing kindness and humanity to be exhausted.

Indifference leads to misbehavior in society

My story two years ago, while waiting for the bus on the street, I happened to see an older woman being pickpocketed, but at that time, I chose to be silent and indifferent to do nothing.

Partly because of fear that the pickpocket would take revenge and also afraid that the older woman would misunderstand me for something.

A few days later, still at the same station, when I got on the bus, and the driver asked me to give money, I reached into my pocket and suddenly realized I had been pickpocketed.
