Fear and worry often stifle our happiness, our accomplishments, and even our livelihood. But these 7 truths help you understand why and how to let go of them.
1. Your fear is not your fault
Many people fear that they are the cause of their problems. They believe they had done something wrong in the past or that their life is out of control now because of who they are as a person.
But the truth is that unfortunate events happen to other people far more than to you. And more important you can’t predict what life will bring anyway.
2. You don’t have to live in the past, but you can learn from it
A country song says, “There are more things under heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.” The point of this verse is that there is more to life than we may think.
The past impacts the present, but it is not the same as the present. Looking back at what happened in your life can help you understand how to do things differently next time. But dwelling in the past is like hanging on to a burned rope because it still has a few strands left. We can change, but we have to let go of our anger and resentment first.
