7 Time-Savers for Those Who Struggle with Loneliness and Feeling Lonely
On days when you are reeling from the loneliness, the isolation, and the feelings of despair, it can seem impossible to find reason to go on. But it’s not. And there are things you can do to make life more livable for yourself.
The unfortunate truth is that these feelings are part of how humans cope with mental illness. Fortunately, this too will pass because there are methods that work in fighting them off.
There are many things you can do on your own — and many other things you could enlist help with as well — to lessen the burden of feeling lonely and alone for those who struggle most with social withdrawal issues such as depression and anxiety disorder.
1. Get outside and stay active.
It can be extremely helpful to find a hobby or activity that’s focused on the outdoors and make sure you do this at least once a week, if not more often.
Some mental health professionals recommend using archery as a way to help manage your feelings because it offers an opportunity for quiet and solitude, and it can provide you with an escape from the world through concentration on tasks that demand intense focus.
