While intelligence is often thought to be something we’re born with, research also suggests that it can be learned and grown with practice. Plus, there are many skills and qualities that support intelligence, while only a few really hinder it.
1. You’re Curious
Curiosity is a good thing even science suggests that it keeps your brain healthy and active. People who are curious tend to be able to see the positive in things, but they also enjoy learning about new things even if they’re not related to their personal interests.
2. You Can Laugh at Yourself
Confidence is attractive, and nothing says confidence like a sense of humor. Laughter is a sign of intelligence, so this makes sense.
3. You’re Good at Reading People
We don’t all like being around people who are perceptive and manipulative, but those same people tend to be very intelligent as well.
4. You Listen Carefully
Listening is something that few people do well, but only the most intelligent ones tend to learn how to pay close attention which helps them focus on what’s important in conversations and make better decisions later on.
