Have you ever felt a strong sense of hopelessness? It’s not just that you’re feeling down, but the idea of getting up again seems impossible. You feel like giving up and quitting.

1. Find something positive.
Finding something positive about yourself or about the world helps shift your perspective on the situation and opens your mind to new possibilities. Find something good in a situation, no matter what it is, and you’ll begin to see the possibilities for hope. There will be things you can do to make things better, even in hopeless situations… without giving up hope at all.
2. Take responsibility for your choices.
If you’re in a position that makes recovery difficult, take full responsibility and make an effort to escape it. You’re the person in control of your life.
