We’ve all heard the phrase that “business is personal,” but sometimes it’s best to keep these two worlds separate. However, there are still plenty of things you shouldn’t say to your business partner.

They may be your best friend, but they’re not perfect and shouldn’t be treated like they are. Keep in mind that while you might not always get along with them, this person is still your business partner and should be treated with respect; they’re not just someone you can release all of your frustration on at any given moment.

Here are 15 things you should never say to your business partner:

1. “I Want Out”

Unfortunately, the phrase “I want out” is often used by business partners who feel that they aren’t being treated fairly. Not only is this phrase incredibly hurtful and disrespectful, but if you have any hopes of creating a solid relationship with this person in the future, this kind of statement will only prevent a lot of progress. Getting out may mean leaving the company as a whole; it may mean getting transferred to another department. Regardless, just because you’re unhappy doesn’t mean you should say these words.

2. “I Don’t Need This Job”
