The power of indifference is a powerful force indeed and can be used in countless ways. Taking a moment to observe a situation before reacting is an excellent way to take advantage of the power allotted to you and make the best decision for yourself, as well as others. We have all made mistakes in our lives that have negatively affected us, but learning how to react appropriately can help us grow beyond this experience, into better people with better memories.

Here are 15 things you can learn from the power of indifference:

1. It separates you from the herd

Most people act based on their emotions. While it’s a good thing to be reasonable, it’s also good to have a healthy dose of indifference in your life. Indifference will allow you to see things for how they are and not by how you wish them to be.

Sometimes we see something or someone who is doing something that makes us angry or upset, but if we were to react too quickly, we’d lose focus on the bigger picture and only see the immediate issue at hand. Not reacting too quickly will enable you to separate yourself from the herd and remain level-headed so that you can make the best decision possible and take it from there.

2. You’ll be taken more seriously
