15 Reason Why are Men always ok with doing nothing for their birthday?
Ever noticed how guys are totally fine doing nothing for their birthday? No dinner, no party, no fancy surprises. It’s not because we don’t care. It’s deeper than that.
Okay, real talk if you ask me what I want to do for my birthday, I’ll probably say, “Eh, I don’t know… chill?” But not because I don’t want to be celebrated. It’s just… birthdays come with pressure, and honestly, sometimes it’s easier to avoid that completely. The real solution? We don’t want to feel like a burden.
Let me explain. Last year, on my birthday, my girlfriend was hyped. She was like, “Let’s plan something special!” And I froze. I didn’t want to invite people. I didn’t want to go out. I just wanted to stay in, eat something basic, and maybe scroll TikTok until midnight. Not because I didn’t appreciate her effort but because deep down, part of me felt guilty. Like, why should people go out of their way for me?
It’s weird, right? We spend our whole lives being told to be strong, to suck it up, to not expect too much. So when a birthday rolls around, the default is: don’t make noise. Keep it low-key. That way, no one’s disappointed. But here’s the part they don’t want you to know… a lot of us do want to feel special. We just don’t know how to ask for it.
