10 Ways To Deal With Emotions Before They Deal With You

We all have our moments when the emotions take over. The other day I got really upset because I was trying to find my glasses and couldn’t find them. After looking for ten minutes, I finally found them in the other room, but by then I had already texted all of my friends telling them how pissed off and frustrated I was about not finding them right away.

It’s easy to let your emotions get the best of you and cause problems without realizing it, but there are ways that you can avoid that from happening again. Here’s how to take control of your emotions before they take control of you.

1. Refocus Yourself Before Negative Emotions Kick In

When you get frustrated, angry or sad, it’s natural to want to think about that person or situation that is frustrating you.

However, if you do this before you can get yourself under control, then your emotions will just get worse instead of better.

Do you know how many times I’ve gotten upset because of something unrelated to what I was upset about? That’s right; it happened a lot. And when that happens, the situation doesn’t seem important because the initial cause of your anger has already been forgotten about.
